One in two women across the world have curly or wavy hair*. However, some women find their textured hair hard to manage and define. They can also struggle to detangle hair, which can be dry and prone to frizz and breakage.

Each curl or wave type has unique characteristics – shape, type, density, thickness, length, dryness – influencing its behaviour. It is also common to find two different textures on one’s head; patterns tend to be tighter closer to the root and more loose in the lengths.
In total there are 9 categorised texture types to help define a correct diagnosis and choose the customised care and styling routine to meet every need:
- Numbers represent hair texture: waves, curls and coils
- Letters represent hair type: loose, medium and tight
