Step 1 – Section the hair for cutting

Step 1
  • Establish a profile part and isolate the top section
  • Create a crisscross section at the back, as detailed in the images

Step 2 – Back section

Step 2
  • Starting with the back sections, elevate hair and trim at 90° to the head
  • Work in slices around the head, leaving the top section untouched for now
  • Connect back sections using a slicing technique, keeping as much length as possible in the outline

Step 3 – Top section

Step 3
  • Move onto the top section
  • Working from the crown, trim sections pivoting around this focal point
  • Take the middle area as a guide and connect the top and back sections using a slicing technique to create an overhang
  • Work through to the front, over-directing sections back from the hairline

Step 4 – Section the hair for colouring

Step 4
  • Create a circular section around the crown area as detailed
  • Isolate spiral curved sections around the head

Step 5 – Colour circular section

Step 5
  • Working in back-to-back slices apply colours 1, 2 and 3 from root to ends
  • Work around this section layering colours until complete

Step 6 – Top section

Step 6
  • Continue to alternate between colours 1, 2 and 3 working through the front and top sections
  • Develop colourants according to appropriate timings
  • Rinse, then treat hair with BC Color Freeze Shampoo and Conditioner

Step 7 – Personalised finish

Step 7
  • After blow-drying hair straight, complete the look by point-cutting the fringe and ends for a softer shape and finish
